For forty-four years Biafrans have been slumbering under the disillusion of one Nigeria. After loosing 3.6 Million Children,Women & Men of Biafra (1967-1970).Having been cowed by a devastating, they have resulted in leaking their wounds and believing things will turn out better for them in Nigeria. But all those hopes and aspirations have only be emasculated under the tight grip of Hausa-Fulani-dominated Nigerian government, who are bent on subjugating them. Despite putting all they had towards making Nigeria work, they have finally come to realise that they have no potion in Nigeria and are taking their destinies in their hands. As Nigeria currently tethers on the brink of collapse, Biafrans are preparing to restore their country.

As a sign of readiness & determination, the Indigenous People of Biafra are gathering all over the world to remember their fallen heroes and all their sons and daughters who died during the war. This is surprisingly the first time, the fallen heroes who fought for the survival of their people are being honoured and remembered this way. In every country across the globe Biafrans are coming out en mass to observe a two minute silence by 12 noon and then protest the none trial of perpetrators of genocide against Biafrans. The attention of the world is being drawn to the plight of Biafrans. It should be recalled that despite the well documented acts of genocide committed by the Nigerian forces against Biafrans, no one has yet to be brought to trial. The International Criminal Court has been shockingly silent. Whereas every other genocidal act in Africa and other parts of the world have been investigated and perpetrators brought to book, the millions of Biafrans starved to death or civilians bombed or deliberately killed by Nigerian forces, the world has unabashedly remained silent.

Today’s celebration signals to readiness of Biafrans for greater things to come. With increasing attacks on Biafrans by the Hausa/Fulani-ccontrolled Boko Haram, Biafrans are getting galvanised into action.

The Biafran giant is finally awake and have signaled their readiness to dump Nigeria for good!

The World event was transmitted Live on Radio Biafria London Studio. This Live transmission gave Biafrians all over the world the opportunity to be informed and up to date and the networking and response level was simply awesome.

During the live transmission Carol Munday one of the Cordinator in UK called in the Studio to inform Biafrians that 3 Buses transported Biafrians from Anambra State to Enugu the Venue of the Event in Nigeria has been arrested by the Nigeria Police, within 10 Seconds of making this information public the Nigerian Police & DSS Hotlines were bombarded with calls from Biafrians from all over the World.

Made in Nigeria NISSAN ready for export soon – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan said on Thursday that the vision of his administration to revamp the capability of Nigeria’s automobile sector to export locally manufactured cars is near realisation.

Jonathan stated this at the 2014 Democracy Day celebration held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Jonathan, who inspected locally assembled Nissan Saloon cars, Pick-Up Van and SUV at the venue of the programme, said the administration had proved doubting Thomas wrong.

The President explained that when he made the disclosure in 2013 that made-in Nigeria cars would be rolled out in the country in April and that Nigeria would soon be exporting cars, he was lampooned on the pages of newspapers.

He commended Nissan Group for keying into the new automotive policy of the federal government and urged other multinational auto companies to take a cue from Nissan.

The President also used the occasion to present his administration’s third anniversary report of the transformation agenda.

The report gave the accounts of the administration’s stewardship in every sector of the economy in the last one year.

Jonathan said the report, which was also rendered in multimedia video clip to the audience, authenticated that things are working in the country inspite of security challenges.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the administration’s mid-year score card was presented by the President during the 2013 Democracy Day celebration.

NAN reports the 2014 Democracy Day celebration was dedicated to the Nigeria Youth.

The event was attended by Vice President Namadi Sambo, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Maryam Aloma Mukhtar, Ministers and members of Diomatic Corps.

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, former Head of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme and former Chief of General Staff, Gen. Oladipo Diya also attended the event. (NAN)

EXPOSED!!!!! HOW JUDE EJIOGU LOOTED 1 BILLION NAIRA IMO LGA PENSION FUNDS

Nija Eye Blog E-Mail:-nijaeye@nijatvgermany.com ; +49 (0) 152 140 400 10 ; LIKE OUR PAGE SHARE OUR PAGE;  JOIN OUR FACEBOOK/TWITTER PAGE
I told you before that as a young man one of the artists I followed his music is the late legendary Afro-beat maestro Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Fela did a lot of songs, most of which are about the misrule of our government and even the western imperialists. Fela did a song titled: ‘Beasts of no nation’ to protest the evil apartheid regime in South-Africa. And back home, Fela through his songs exposed so many evil in government dealings. ITT (International Thief, Thief) ,VIP (Vagabonds in Power), Teacher don’t teach me nonsense, Sorrow, tears and blood and Authority Stealing are a few among many work of legendary Fela. I remember his song title Army Arrangement; I heard Fela singing and saying 2.8 billion naira oil money missing.

Last time, I told you that over 3 billion naira was looted and carted away by the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu. I told you that the Imo Speaker awarded fraudulent Road Contracts to himself in Imo State using his friends as fronts and used the money he got from the road contracts scams to acquire eye popping mansions in Nigeria.I shouted because In the midst of abundant human and natural resources, the vast majority of Imo working masses live in abject poverty. The vast majority of Imolites are kept in unstable and difficult socio-economic conditions while a tiny fraction have exclusive access to things and comforts of life. I called Uwajumogu the International Thief Thief number one of Imo State. The entire money stolen by Uwajumogu alone is enough to begin to rebuild failed infrastructures in his Okigwe constituency. Yet this same man is jostling to represent Okigwe zone in the Senate.

This time i am pointing at the International Thief Thief number two that is currently in power in Imo State, another VIP (Vagabond in Power). This highly placed government official and his accomplices stole 1billion naira from the Imo State LGA Pension fund when he was the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission. Today, LGA pensioners are calling on the State Government to immediately settle the pension of Local Government retirees in Imo State. So who looted the monies issued out by Governor Okorocha to settle LGA pensioners?

Many of these LGA retirees are already living from hand to mouth, despite having committed their active lives to serving society. Many of them are already infirm and can hardly afford the exorbitant hospital bills charged thanks to commercialization of healthcare in Imo State. Many have their children in schools, and can hardly pay high fees. While many of these retirees have not been put on the payroll since their retirement, those already on the payroll are still owed several months of unpaid pension arrears and gratuity. Thus, these retirees, who have no other means of livelihood, can hardly meet their basic needs, while majority are already in debt. Retirement, which ordinarily should be embraced with joy, has become a source of sorrow, frustration, panic and agony in Imo State.

I am aware that the primary reason for this embarrassing state of absurdity as per pensioners in our LGA’s is the "profit first" capitalist Chief of Staff to the Imo Governor Sir Jude Ejiogu who allegedly looted 1 billion naira LGA pension funds in the State when he was the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission. I totally condemn in strong terms this insensitivity to the plights of pensioners in the state. I say boldly today that Jude Ejiogu is the ITT (International Thief Thief number two) in Imo State. Fortunately for this looter, he was not charged to court and he is still in power.

Senate president, David Mark once said 'if your wealth is from people's pensions then that is blood money. It is blood money because you cannot take away the sweat, the entitlements of an old man or an old woman who is looking up just to that little appreciation from his country and believe that you will live in peace. You cannot live in peace because the prayers of those old men at home will fight you.' Like David Mark i share the anguish and anger of the ordinary Imolites against this kind of capitalist looting. To me even the stoning of persons that stole money belonging to pensioners would not be sufficient to compensate the affected pensioners, if on retirement they could not receive their pensions. Yet this same man is jostling to represent Owerri zone for elective position in 2015.

Jude Ejiogu is enmeshed in an orgy of corruption and mass looting of public money and natural resources. I am aware of why Commercial banks operating in Imo State shut their doors against their customers for some days. I am aware that Jude Ejiogu when he was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internal Revenue Generation (IGR) collected millions of naira from commercial banks in the state as tax but diverted the monies into his own pocket. The State government later demanded the same tax that Ejiogu had already collected from the banks and the banks had to go on strike for excessive taxation .I am also aware that the same Jude Ejiogu allegedly defrauded Hall mark Bank and Progress Bank and ran to USA some years ago. Yet this same man is jostling to represent Owerri zone for elective position in 2015.

To end perpetual mass misery in the midst of an inexhaustible abundance in Imo State, i have commence a campaign against looters like Ejiogu. From week to week i will name them one after the other. As have been amply demonstrated, these capitalist elite like Ejiogu , unless removed from political power will always and would always directly loot the resources that ought to be used to better the lot of the vast majority of the Imo population.Equally worrisome is that when capitalist thieving elite like Ejiogu are not busy with direct looting of the State's treasury, their only other pre-occupation is the implementation of socio-economic policies that can only make life harder for the overwhelming majority of Imolites . This is the primary ideological reason why Ejiogu is a chief advocate for privatization and commercialization of basic needs and social services in Imo State. Through this unjust strategy, he and other ruling capitalist thieving cabal in Imo State have virtually sold to themselves all publicly built government houses and public companies at rock bottom prices, of course, with money directly looted from the state's treasury. Save us o God.

National Conference delegates Vote to tax churches, mosques

Delegates at the ongoing National Conference yesterday May 27th voted unanimously for churches & mosques to pay taxes. The delegates arrived at the decision after deliberating on recommendations made by the Committee on Religion. A delegate representing Civil Organizations, Mallam Naseer Kura, during the deliberation observed that most religious leaders in Nigeria are now making a lot of money from their organizations and so should be taxed accordingly. Supporting his arguement, Isaac Ighure a delegate representing the Nigeria Guild of Editors, in his submission said most religious leaders had so much money now to buy jets while their followers are living in abject poverty and asked that they should be made to pay taxes. "Some people buy private jets when people in their churches are suffering and living in abject poverty, they should be made to pay taxes,” he said. The recommendations to pay tax will be submitted to the National Assembly at the end of the conference and if accepted by the National Assembly, it would then be passed into law. Who agrees that religious organizations should pay tax?

BREAKING ::::: New Government coming to Nigeria come 2015 -President Jonathan

In a speech that is bound to catch his allies, foes and watchers of his administration by surprise, President Goodluck Jonathan today assured Nigerians that a different government and leadership would be installed in Nigeria in 2015.

Mr. Jonathan made the surprise statement at a “Democracy Day” church service held Sunday in Abuja.

Before the president’s speech, the head of the Nigeria Pilgrims Commission, Reverend John Kennedy Opara, had set the tone when he told the gathering that this year's Democracy Day would be the last to be celebrated by Mr. Jonathan.

When it was the president’s turn to speak, he referred to Reverend Opara’s statement. He echoed the reverend’s statement, assuring Nigerians that the Democracy Day event was the last for his current administration.

A PDP official who was at the event told SaharaReporters that he was mystified by the statements. He said he had no advance notice about the president’s remarks, and so was in no position to interpret its political meaning.

It remains unclear if the two statements are indications that the Nigerian president had decided not to seek a second term in office in general elections scheduled for next year. Mr. Jonathan continues to face criticism both in Nigeria and abroad for his dismal performance since he assumed office more than five years ago.

Our source reported that the church service was not well attended. He stated, however, that some government officials, including Senate President David Mark, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, and some military chiefs were present. The president’s wife, Patience Jonathan, as well as his mother were also in attendance.

In a minor misstep in protocol, Mr. Jonathan recognized his wife before he did Senator David Mark.

Mother (22yr old) sells her one-month old baby for N430k in Onitsha approx. 2000 Euro

22 year old Chinelo Huma, (pictured above), who got pregnant while she was engaged in prostitution, sold her 1-month baby for N430,000. She, alongside 3 others, have been arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Enugu State Police Command.

Sunday Sun reports;

Three other women, Nkechi Ugochukwu, Maria Asomba and Esther Obi, who allegedly played roles in the sale of the baby were traced to Onitsha, Anambra State and arrested by the police.
Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu who disclosed this, toldSunday Sun that Huma got pregnant while prostituting. Her boyfriend who was not quite ready to bear the responsibility of fatherhood rejected Huma’s pregnancy.
Incidentally, Huma already had two children, who were being cared for by her mother. So having another child out of wedlock was not an idea that appealed to her one bit and she decided to relieve herself of the burden of caring for the baby.

Her words:
“I am a prostitute. When I became pregnant and it was close to nine months, my boyfriend rejected it. I decided to sell the baby. When I gave birth on April 13, 2014, one lady whose name is Maria Asomba, arranged for the baby to be sold to Mrs. Nkechi Ugochukwu, and she paid N430, 000, but Asomba gave me N150,000.
“When the police arrested Ugochukwu, I told them I didn’t want the baby again, because I already have two children and my mother is taking care of them.”

Adamu explained that 43-year-old Ugochukwu had for long desired to have a child of her own but was unable to conceive. The arrangement to source the baby was facilitated by one Esther Obi, who nursed the newborn for two weeks before handing her over to Ugochukwu.

The Commissioner of Police further revealed that Asomba, 35, specialized in looking recruiting pregnant ladies that were willing to dispose of their babies after giving birth.

The police learnt about the ignoble act, Adamu said the Head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Supol Gloria Udoka (DSP) and her team swung into action and traced the suspects to a jungle in Onitsha, where the one-month old was rescued. The police team also arrested Ugochukwu.
Giving more insight to the sordid affair, the deputy head of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Supol Anyai Dennis (CSP) expressed disgust that even after the baby was recovered, Huma insisted she didn’t want to keep the baby.

Supol Dennis added that Ugochukwu was reluctant to hand over the baby as she had led her neighbours to believe she had given birth and would feel a deeply embarrassed, given that she had made arrangements for the baby already named as Chinasa.

Expressing her pain at the turn of events, Ugochukwu lamented:

“I have been barren for years and I needed a child. My husband’s kinsmen have been maligning and making jest of me because I don’t have a child. I borrowed N430,000 to buy the child; my husband is aware of the baby. The baby was brought to me on April 17, 2014. When I took the baby to my compound all my neighbours congratulated me over the new baby; policemen came and took the baby from me. I don’t want my money back. I need the baby. I have named the baby Chinasa and I am already planning to dedicate her in church.”

That desire now appears to be a pipe dream as the Commissioner of Police has given a firm assurance that all the suspects would be charged to court soon for human trafficking.

Attack on Media as APC Party Thugs Attack AIT News Crew In Ekiti

Suspected thugs suspected to be affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) political party have attacked the crew of African Independent Television (AIT) in Ekiti State.

The television station’s crew were in Ikere Ekiti, Ado Ekiti State, to transmit ‘Live’ coverage of the Labour Party's (LP) Governorship Candidate, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, campaign rally.

The campaign rally was attended by party stalwarts, which included Governor Olusegun Mimiko, of the Ondo state, and the Party's National Chairman, Mr. Dan Inwanyanwu.

The thugs brandished weapons, guns, and other weaponry, before descending on their targets, and made away with equipment, and other accessories belonging to the occupants of the vehicles.

Cameras, recording devices, including transmission gadgets belonging to the station were smashed, and badly destroyed.

The vehicles that also accompanied the AIT crew, believed to be at least two cars, were also smashed, and badly damaged, said a source who was at the scene,

It is not yet clear if the Television crew were actually targeted, or if they only fell victim to a random attack.

The Station crew have been present in the State for some months. They were assigned there to report on crime, and political activities on a daily basis in Ekiti state, as the June 21governorship election draws nearer.

A police officer who requested anonymity confirmed the attack on the television news crew incident to news men, but could not actually speak for certain about their identities, or affiliations, or if the thugs were actually members of any political party.

European Parliament Election 2014: A vote for Europe ----Special Insight to the EU Election week 20-25 May 2014

Nearly 400 million people will have the right to vote in the EU polls - but many will see it as an opportunity for elite bashing

Roll up, roll up for the most bizarre election on the planet.
More than 380,000,000 people have the right to vote in the next few days in what is, theoretically, an important milestone on the road to a Europe-wide democracy. Less than half of them, however, will bother to do so.

All the same – barring India – this will be the most gargantuan exercise in democracy ever attempted. Voting for 751 Euro MPs will take place in 28 countries over four days. And yet, it is those Europeans who detest the European Union, who appear most to cherish their right to vote this week.

Forget, for a moment, the predicted high Ukip vote in Britain. Eurosceptic, hard-nationalist parties are also threatening to top the poll, thanks to low turnouts, in at least two EU founding member states: France and the Netherlands. There will also be historically high Eurosceptic votes in Germany, Spain and Italy. One vote in three seems likely to go to parties of the hard right or the hard left, that loathe the EU in its present form – or in any form.

And yet, we are told, this is the first European election that will directly influence the high politics of Brussels. The outcome will, in theory, decide who replaces Jose Manuel Barroso as President of the European Commission at the end of this year.

After all the talk of a “democratic deficit” in Europe, of Brussels being “remote” and “faceless”, Europe’s voters have a chance to choose the personalities and policies that will shape the EU over the next five years. The great majority of them are scarcely aware that they have such a choice.

Martin Schulz or Jean-Claude Juncker? Guy Verhofstadt, Ska Keller or Alexis Tsipras? More than two-thirds of Europeans, according to one poll, do not know who these people are.

This will, in truth, be not one election but 29 – an election to the European Parliament that grips few voters; and 28 national, mid-term opinion polls, whose results will be skewed by the low turnout. National issues, in almost every case, will shape the outcome as much, or more than, European issues.

The European elections, precisely because they are non-national elections, are a wonderful, double opportunity for elite-bashing. They offer a chance to boot mainstream parties, without risking putting the populists in power. They offer a chance to boot the EU for its own sake.

There is a jumble of voting days and polling methods, Britain, the Netherlands and Croatia will vote tomorrow. Malta, Ireland and the Czech Republic on Friday and Saturday; Cyprus, Latvia and Slovakia on Friday; Italy on Saturday; and the rest on Sunday.

There are four different kinds of proportional representation, according to national taste. There are immense multi-seat regional constituencies in Britain, Poland, France, Italy and Belgium. In the other countries there is a nationwide poll with party lists of candidates.

When all the results are known on Sunday night, there will be no coherent EU-wide pattern. There will be a strong anti-European vote in countries that are doing well economically, such as Britain, Austria and Finland. There will be an overwhelming vote for pro-European parties in some of the countries that have suffered most in the Euro crisis (Ireland and Portugal) but a strong anti-Brussels backlash in others (Greece, Italy and Spain).

In some countries (Britain, Germany, Finland, Denmark), the EU will be attacked as a bureaucratic intrusion into free enterprise and global trade. In others (France and Italy), it will be lampooned, by both hard right and hard left, as a conspiracy by ultra-liberal, Anglo-Saxon, market fundamentalists to enslave the ordinary people and destroy national identity. Only one anti-EU theme is constant from Britain to Hungary, Germany to Greece – that Brussels is responsible for unwelcome levels of immigration, both within the EU and from the outside.

The elections will not paint a flattering picture of the EU. Sixty six years after the creation of the Common Market, 100 years after the start of a Great European Civil War, it will emerge as, at worst, detested and, at best, misunderstood and unloved.

Many will interpret the results as proof that the Union is doomed. They could just as easily be offered as proof that the EU is indispensable (but needs radical overhaul). Consider what might happen to the European free market alone if there was no EU treaties to restrain all those jarring national differences.

In France, Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigrant, anti-market, anti-American party, Front National (FN), hopes to emerge this weekend as the leader of Anti-Europe. The FN may win as many as 20 of the 74 French seats – even though it only has two seats in the French national parliament.

Ms Le Pen is in a partnership, called “the European Alliance for Freedom” (EAF), with the Geert Wilders’ anti-immigrant party, the PVV, in the Netherlands; with the “True Finns”; and with the hard right Austrian freedom party, the FPO. With other odds and ends, she should comfortably win the 25 seats from seven countries that she needs to form a parliamentary group in Strasbourg.

Dutch PPV party leader Geert Wilders displays a yellow star he cut out of the EU flag in front of the European Parliament in Brussels

Nigel Farage and Ukip have refused to throw in their lot with Ms Le Pen. To her fury, he insists that the French FN remains racist and anti-semitic in its “DNA”. Ms Le Pen retorts that he is jealous of her attempts to create a hard European right under her leadership. All the same, Ukip should be able to greatly expand its existing “Europe of Freedom and Democracy” group, mostly with right-wing nationalist, eastern European parties. Some of the wilder, neo-Nazi fringes of the European hard right – Jobbik from Hungary and Golden Dawn in Greece – will win a clutch of seats but will be excluded from both these groups. The British Conservatives, with a ragbag of allies, will probably hold on to their separate mildly anti-European group, the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR).

If you add a steep increase in hard left seats, more than one in three members of the new European Parliament will fervently wish that the institution did not exist. That is bizarre. But what will it mean?

Under the Treaty of Lisbon, the parliament is far more than a talking shop. It has done much to clean up its act. It has power to propose and amend European legislation.

It remains an odd beast – impressive as the only supranational, democratic institution in the world; ignored because it lacks the aura and legitimacy of popular understanding or interest.

Ms Le Pen says that she hopes to have a “blocking minority” to prevent any further legislation which dilutes national sovereignty. In practise, no such blocking minority exists in the parliament’s rules. The anti-Europeans will be heavily outnumbered by the “pro-Europeans” of the centre-right (European People’s Party), Socialists, Liberals and Greens.

The disparate “antis”, from the neo-Nazis to the Tories, will still find many opportunities for sabotage. Whether they will be able to work together to exploit those opportunities is open to question. One area in which they could be influential – and might paradoxically please many of the member states – is in the choice of the next President of the European Commission.

The rules are ambiguous. Member states select the candidate but that the parliament endorses or reject the governments’ nominee. According to the Treaty of Lisbon, the results of this week’s elections must be “taken into account”.

The parliament’s leaders insist that this means that each political group has the right to present a candidate for Commission president in this week’s election. The champion of the group which wins the most seats should, they say, be endorsed by the member states as the next head of the Brussels executive.

This implies a straight fight between the centre-right candidate, Jean-Claude Juncker (former Prime Minister of Luxembourg) and the Socialist candidate, and Parliament president, Martin Schulz, from Germany.

The other candidates mentioned earlier, represent the Liberals, Greens and hard left. These groups have no realistic chance of coming first this weekend. Polls suggest that Mr Juncker’s EPP should narrowly pip the Socialists with just over 200 seats each.

Most of the big member states reject this interpretation of the treaty. They insist that they are free to cast their net more widely. The parliament threatens to reject any nominee who did not run in the European elections.

The scene is set for a stonking Euro-row, in which the anti-European third of the new assembly could easily play a significant and mischievous role, delaying a decision indefinitely.

This may seem a sterile debate but it goes to the heart of one of the great conundrums in European politics. There can be no real, direct democracy in Europe until European citzens think in European terms. Voters will not think in European terms until there is Europe-wide democracy. This weeks’ election was supposed to start, timidly, to resolve that conundrum. It is likely to leave it as impenetrable as ever.

OPEN LETTER TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL OF OPEC -Call For Sack Of Diezani Allison-Madueke

OPEN LETTER TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL OF OPEC

The Secretary-General,

Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC),

Helferstorferstrasse 17, A-1010,

Vienna, Austria
.

This is to call on Your Excellency, to immediately ensure the termination of the job of Nigerian Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke as the Alternate President of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Mrs. Alilson-Madueke who has served in different capacities as an appointed public official in Nigeria since 2007, was elected during the 164th meeting of the OPEC conference in Vienna, Austria on December 4, 2013.

Even though Nigerians are always excited to have one of their own occupy such international offices, in this particular case of Mrs. Alison-Madueke, based on her performance and reputation in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, according to one NGO, Civil Society Network Against Corruption, CSNAC, "it is feared that her occupation of higher position of influence might not only be detrimental to Nigeria’s image but injurious to overall OPEC operations and reputation."

In fact, it has been very worrisome that since Alison-Madueke’s appointment as a Minister in 2007, her activities have been devoid of integrity, transparency, accountability and probity required of a public official in Nigeria.

This demand has become imperative in view of a plethora of corruption and underhand dealing allegations swirling around her stewardship as Nigeria's oil Minister. Besides the alleged non-remittance of $20billion to the Federation Account by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, whose board she chairs, she is currently battling to explain how she allegedly squandered a whopping sum of N10billion on private jets in two years to ferry herself and her family members within and outside Nigeria.

Other reports from committees empanelled by the Federal Government that have found her wanting include but not limited to NEITI, KPMG, Farouk Lawan, Aig-Aigboje Imhokuede and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, which all arrived at similar conclusions about her.

Above all, the reports provided far-reaching insight into the pervasive corruption bedeviling the nation's petroleum industry, ranging from illegal violation of OPEC quota for Nigeria, to outright falsification of the exchange rates used for settling government oil revenue, to illegal exploitation of the fuel subsidy regime. The reports are clear and unequivocal in their observations and conclusions.

As a result of these reports, it would be wise for you to cause her to step aside to be able to answer to the allegations. She needs to step aside until she is able to clear herself and the NNPC of the allegations of unremitted $20 billion made against the corporation by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Even though the Federal Government has commissioned a forensic audit of the NNPC Account to determine the whereabout of the money, her continual stay as the Alternate President in your reputable organization, may make you vicariously complicit in the matter.

The CSNAC, had in a petition to you, hinted that "At several times, Nigerians have called for the removal or resignation of Ms. Madueke, if indeed a person of honour, but all cries have fallen on deaf ears. Our President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is perceived to have a soft spot for the lady and a few others with penchant for corruption. It is clear nothing can happen to her under this dispensation.

"We understand that in the current regime, justice is not being appropriated in our country but we have a resolute belief in the ability of the International Community to ensure sanity and sanctity in actions and operations at that level. Allowing Ms. Alison-Madueke to function in such position will only broaden her circle of perpetual corruption and lack of transparency.

"Hence, we are demanding that Ms. Alison-Madueke be removed immediately as Alternate President of the OPEC before she causes Nigeria another monumental embarrassment which will indelibly leave our tails behind our legs.... In the alternative, OPEC should suspend her from office, pending the outcome of a high level international investigation, to be commissioned by the OPEC, to verify allegations contained in this petition.

"Therefore, with her abysmal performance in different offices at the national level, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke is undeserving of that international position and should not be allowed to pollute the integrity of OPEC in her position as the alternate president of OPEC."

Based on the lack-lustre performance and reputation in her present job as the Minister of Petroleum, her election into such a lofty position is not only detrimental to Nigeria’s image but injurious to the overall OPEC operations and reputation.

I humbly appeal that this issue be made a part of your agenda for your 165th (Ordinary) OPEC Meeting in Vienna, Austria, on 11th June 2014. Sir, I am fully prepared to make myself available to defend the assertions contained in this letter during the meeting, if I be so required by Your Excellency.

Thanks for your earliest action on this matter.

With best regards.

Signed:

Comrade Timi Frank

President Goodluck Jonathan embarrassed in South Africa

(AFP) -President Goodluck Jonathan was greeted with shouts of “bring back our girls” when he arrived at the Union Buildings, where Zuma was inaugurated.

Nigeria‘s President Goodluck Jonathan is among more than 20 heads of state gathered for the event.

African leaders in Pretoria for President Jacob Zuma’s inauguration will hold informal talks on the security situation in Nigeria, South Africa’s government said on Saturday.

Government spokesman Clayson Monyela said they would meet to discuss security in Nigeria, where the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls has laid bare the government’s inability to tackle an insurgency by the Islamist group Boko Haram.

The talks follow a spate of attacks in Nigeria, which is under growing international pressure to tackle the increasingly bloody uprising.

President Obama took an impromptu walk along the National Mall this week, both stunning and thrilling the tourists from the U.S. and abroad.

"You gotta catch folks by surprise. You can't be regular. You can't be routine," said the president, suit jacket over one shoulder as he made his way to an event at the Department of the Interior.

The White House on Thursday posted raw video of the rare outing, which took place Wednesday.

The video released by The White House, titled “A Surprise Walk with the President” has gone viral online with over 3,000,000 views on YouTube.

"It's good to be out," Obama told reporters. "The bear is loose."

With Secret Service agents nearby, the president shook hands and posed for photos with tourists. He also checked in with a woman selling pretzels and hot dogs to inquire about how business is going and gave some children "special White House M&Ms."

One woman named Anna asked, "Are you real?"

"Yes, I am," the president responded. "I'm not wax."

Another, named Karen, hugged him and declared it "the best day of my life."

"Someone's going to think you're, like, wax," she said as they posed for a photo.
