BELOW IS HIS BIOGRAPHY:-

King Robert Ebizimor is popularly known as the King of music in Ijaw land. He started playing music in 1973, after living as a farmer and gatherer of woods in a place he prefers to call bush, in the present Bayelsa State.

Some of Ebizimor’s hit tracks include Bobramubra, a philosophical song that warns human beings to take things easy, as everyone is destined to return to God exactly the way he or she came to the world (naked). Another song is Duamabou, which relays the experiences of a man who went to play in a cemetery.

Ebizimor has over 20 albums to his credit but he is better known for his scintillating live performances mostly in and around the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Once reputed to have had a harem of wives, the 52- year old musician now lives quietly with one of the wives. He recently got admitted into the University of Port Harcourt.
Although, he used to be very critical of politicians in his lyrics, today, Ebimizor now sings for money since according to him, that is what society desires. Recently, he spoke to journalist in his country home in Sagbama Local Government area of Bayelsa State.

Background
I attended L.A Primary School at Alabiri, and completed in 1960. When my parents died, there was nobody to sponsor my education. So, I started cutting bush, tapping palm wine, fishing, farming and all that, I spent my early days in the bush just looking for what to eat
Fortunately, my elder brother who was residing in Port-Harcourt then, came to me in the bush and invited me to join the music line in Port Harcourt. He said that was the only help he could render to me as at that time, he’s not a musician. He was a businessman. He’s late now. I quietly prepared myself for the journey and on the day of my departure, I told my family in the bush that, l was going to Warri to buy something. From there, l went straight to Port-Harcourt to join the Professional T Boys Dance Band. This happened in 1973. I was with the band for a year, as an apprentice. Then I left for Lagos where l later decided to make a record of my own with Tenco as my producer.
Later, l asked the NEPA Band of Lagos to join me on a tour of the whole of Ijaw Land. I made this move to see if I could raise the money needed to get my own Band.

First tour
When I began the tour, everywhere we went, we were well received.
Most of the ljaw people were happy with me because right from time, they saw me as a talented musician who is ordained by God. All other works that I did outside music, were not satisfying. I later discovered that music is the work God wants me to do.

Music is a stress-free business
Truly, l see it so, because this is a business of no stress. People come to you to play for them.I stay in my house and they come for me, I don’t go looking for anybody to give me opportunity to play for him or her. They come here and make deposit, then I go with my band to play for them.

Back to school
I am 52 years now. I want to bear that name, educated person before I die. Right now, I am studying Linguistics and communications at the University of Port Harcourt. There’s progress. We have money but enough poverty. l’ m not an educationist, but if you don’t have an educational background, you are nothing.

Message
My music is highly philosophical. I talk about marriage, how to marry a man, how to marry a woman and the politics we have today. I also talk about respect for culture among many other things. People understand my parables and proverbs but because most of them just want to enjoy life without working, they find it difficult to take to my advice.
My music is medicine for the soul too, because many people have confessed how they were able to overcome a difficult moment at one point or the other after they had listened to my music.

REST IN PEACE THE HIGH LIFE KING!!!
