Dr Dre appears to have confirmed in a video that his headphone maker Beats Electronics has been acquired by Apple in a $3.2bn deal.
In the video featuring the rapper and musician Tyrese Gibson they refer to the "Billionare boys club" and how the "Forbes list just changed".
Dr Dre is currently listed as the second most wealthy rapper on Forbes' rankings of hip-hop's richest artists with a net worth of $550 million, second to the recently renamed Puff Daddy. Should the deal go through, Dre would become the world's first billionaire rapper.
The video was uploaded to Instagram by Gibson. It has since been deleted from Gibson's account, but is available to watch (featuring very strong launguage) on Youtube
Gibson also tweeted a series of messages alluding to the deal, which have also been deleted. One message said: "How did I end up in the studio with Dr Dre ON THE night his deal went public that he did with Apple..."
